    Roger Moore was an English actor well-known for his fictional role as James Bond. He played the role in seven feature films, from Live and Let Die to A View to a Kill, between 1973 and 1985, in the Eon Productions film series.

    He played the lead role in the British television series The Saint, from 1962-1969, as Simon Templar. He also had several roles in American television shows and films, such as Maverick series and The Persuaders.

    In 1991, he was chosen as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to charity in 2003. Moore gained a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to the film industry in 2007. A year after, he was made by the government of France as the Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate for his outstanding contributions to UK films and television by University of Hertfordshire in 2012.

    He earned awards, including OTTO (Most popular Film Star, from German Magazine BRAVO) in 1981, Golden Globe Henrietta Award for World Film Favorite – Male in 1980, Saturn Award (Most Popular International Performer) in 1980, BAMBI (shared with Tony Curtis for "The Persuaders", from the German magazine BUNTE) in 1973, BEST ACTOR IN TV award from the French magazine TELE-7-JOURS, shared with Tony Curtis for "The Persuaders" in 1973, ONDAS-AWARD (Spanish TV for ""The Saint"") in 1967, OTTO (Most popular TV-star for "The Saint" from German magazine BRAVO) in 1967.
