  • George Lucas movie posters gather original promotional material from the Star Wars and Indiana Jones franchises — two of the most commercially dominant film series in cinema history. Though Lucas directed only a small number of films personally, the theatrical campaigns associated with his productions represent some of the most comprehensively documented in the collector market.

THX 1138 (1971), his debut feature, represents the earliest and rarest Lucas directorial material — a dystopian science-fiction film produced by Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope, with campaign materials reflecting its experimental nature. American Graffiti (1973), produced for Universal, was the highest-grossing film of that year and produced warm, nostalgia-saturated campaign materials that stand in complete stylistic contrast to what followed. Star Wars (1977) and its sequels define the collection: Tom Jung's iconic one-sheet for A New Hope, Roger Kastel's romantic Empire Strikes Back advance campaign, and the prequel trilogy materials from 1999–2005 are all represented. As producer of the Indiana Jones series, Lucas extended his collecting footprint beyond the Star Wars franchise.

Available in US one-sheets, British quads, French grandes affiches, Japanese B2s, and lobby card sets. Condition runs Fine to Very Fine.
