  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Doris Day vintage movie posters from her critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic performances.

Doris Day (born Doris Mary Anne Kappelhoff; April 3rd, 1922 – May 13th, 2019) was an American actress, singer, and probably one of America's most prolific actresses of all time. She changed her last name to Day when she began singing on radio. Her singing was distinguished by crystal clear tone and the ability to convey great emotion. The Hollywood star's career started as a big band singer in 1939, achieving commercial success in 1945 with two No. 1 recordings, "Sentimental Journey" and "My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time".

Day's film career began during the Golden Age of Hollywood with the film Romance on the High Seas (1948), leading to a 20-year career as a motion picture actress. She starred in films of many genres, including musicals, comedies, dramas, and thrillers.

On top of her many entertainment industry achievements, Doris Day was an animal welfare activist. While recovering from an automobile accident, she took her dog Tiny for a walk without a leash. Tiny ran into the street and was killed by a passing car. Day later expressed guilt and loneliness about Tiny's untimely death which further fueled her desire to get involved. In 1971, she co-founded Actors and Others for Animals.

Day died on May 13, 2019, at the age of 97, after having contracted pneumonia, which was announced by her charity, the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Per Day's requests, the Foundation announced that there would be no funeral services, grave marker, or other public memorials.

Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Doris Day movie posters include Send Me No Flowers, a romantic comedy film. It also includes April in Paris with poster artwork by Giorgio Olivetti.

Film/Art Gallery movie posters are original prints and film poster collectibles. These are original movie posters. We do not carry any movie poster reproductions or reprints of any kind.
