Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Stolen Kisses vintage movie posters. Film/Art Gallery offers a wide range of movie posters and artwork for one of cinema's ultimate romantic comedy-drama film series.
Stolen Kisses, with the French title of Baisers volés, is a French romantic comedy-drama film in 1968 directed by François Truffaut starring Jean-Pierre Léaud, who portrayed Antoine Doinel, and Claude Jade, who portrayed Christine Darbon. The story is a continuation of the character Antoine Doinel, whom Truffaut had depicted in The 400 Blows and the short film Antoine and Colette. Stolen Kisses shows the beginning of the relationship between Antoine and Christine Darbon. Their love story is depicted in the last two films in the series, Bed and Board, and Love on the Run.
The story of Stolen Kisses begins when Antoine Doinel is discharged from the army and seeks out his sweetheart Christine Darbon, who is a violinist. While he was in the military, he wrote her many letters. The film garnered awards like the NBR Award for Top Foreign Language Films, National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Director and Best Supporting Actress for Delphine Seyrig, Prix Louis Delluc for Best Film in 1968, and French Syndicate of Cinema Critics for Prix Méliès, the best French film of the year in 1969.
