  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Rat Pack vintage movie posters from its critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic performances.

Rat Pack was a group of entertainers, originated as a group of A-list show business friends who met at their home's friends in Los Angeles and performed together in Las Vegas casino venues. The members of the group are Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop, and Peter Lawford.

They appeared in some films in the early 1960's, including Ocean's 11 directed by Lewis Milestone, Sergeants 3 directed by John Sturges, and Robin and the 7 Hoods with Bing Crosby directed Gordon Douglas.

There are several version as how the of the group got its name. The name itself was originally used to referal a group of friends in New York. Sometime in the 1950s, Lauren Bacall saw her husband Bogart returning from a night in Las Vegas with his friends and quoted, "You look like a gooddamn rat pack." Another story of rat pack may be also a shortened version of Holmby Hills Rat Pack, referring the home of Bogard and Bacall.

In early 1960's, the group was originally recognized as "Clan," but it was too close to the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). The "Rat Pack Mascots" name also emerged, referring to Marilyn Monroe, Angie Dickinson, Juliet Prowse, Shirley MacLaine, and Buddy Greco.

The Rat Pack appeared in some movies, like It Happened in Brooklyn in 1947, Meet Me in Las Vegas in 1956, Some Came Running in 1958, Never So Few in 1959, Pepe in 1960, The Road to Hong Kong in 1962, Come Blow Your Horn, Johnny Cool, 4 for Texas in 1963, Marriage on the Rocks in 1965, The Oscar in 1966, A Man Called Adam and Texas Across the River both in 1966; Salt and Pepper in 1968, One More Time in 1970, The Cannonball Run in 1981, and Cannonball Run II in 1984.

HBO has made a biopic titled The Rat Pack in 1998, showing their private lives and their roles in the 1960 presindetial campaign of John F. Kennedy. The film stars Joe Mantegna as Martin, Ray Liotta as Sinatra, and Don Cheadle as Davis.
