Fight Club (1999) is an American film directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden, Edward Norton as the unnamed narrator, and Helena Bonham Carter as Marla Singer. The film is based on the 1996 novel of the same name by Chuck Palahniuk. Fight Club the novel was optioned by Fox 2000 Pictures with Laura Ziskin as the producer, who then hired Jim Uhls to write the film adaptation. Jim Uhls described the film as a romantic comedy. The story follows Ed Norton's character, who is miserable with his white-collar job, as he joins and participates in a Fight Club.

Director David Fincher commissioned duo Dust Brothers to score the film, and the film's music includes the memorable climax and end credits featuring the song "Where Is My Mind?" by the Pixies.

Fight Club's world premiere was held at the 56th Venice International Film Festival in 1999, and it won the 2000 Online Film Critics Society Awards for Best DVD, Best DVD Commentary and Best DVD Special Features. The film sold more than 6 million copies making it one of the largest-selling home media items in the studio's history.
