This original print from the Saul Bass Archive was designed by Saul for the lavish 1988 historical drama, a Chinese-Japanese co-production. Saul & Elaine Bass were commissioned to do the title sequence for the film, which was a huge success in Japan. However, the film was not released in the United States of America until 1992 where it was retitled 'The Silk Road'.
