Seconds is an unsettling, sci-fi drama with dystopian, Faustian undertones. A secret organization known as "The Company" provides new bodies and identities to rich people who want to escape their lives. Through the visual device of a mold or die Bass captured the idea of stamping out a brand new, albeit macabre, type of product, evoking the film's revelations of the depths to which a system based on profit could sink.
