This is a haunting film about the disappearance of a child. A cinematic essay about what things seem to be, yet are not. It plays with the idea of appearances and disappearance. The tension inĀ the film centers around a young woman who reports her child missing, and yet, when questioned, finds herself unable to provide any proof of her existence. The mystery remains and theĀ audience is held inĀ suspense as the story unfolds. Bass' poster alludes to this seeming contradiction through the image of a child torn out of paper. Like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle, theĀ design cleverly suggests both theĀ child's presence and absence.
