Blow Up

There is confusion amongst some collectors and dealers when it comes to this poster. This one is extremely rare, and was printed for the film's first release in 1967; in addition to this red color, this size and the smaller Italian sizes (39"x55" and 13"x28") were printed in yellow and green. These first print run, first release posters - in any size and color - are extremely rare and sought-after. In the 1970's the film was re-released and lots of new posters were printed, but ONLY in red (not yellow or green). These are farily easy to find, and I would estimate that perhaps we come across one original release BLOW UP for every 75 or so re-release posters. While the images are the same, the red hue is different (this first release is a deep rich slightly 'orange-y' red, while re-release posters are more magenta). The printer company 'Rotolito' is the same, but the address and printer credit are different.
