The Man Who Fell to Earth is 1976 British fantasy film directed by Nicolas Roeg and written by Paul Mayersberg, and adapted from Walter Tevis's 1963 novel. The film stars Candy Clark, David Bowie, Buck Henry, and Rip Torn. It was produced by Michael Deeley and Barry Spikings.

The vintage The Man Who Fell to Earth movie poster for the film's British theatrical release was designed by artist, Vic Fair.

In the film, a space alien named Thomas crash lands on Earth, seeking help for his drought-stricken planet. Aided by lawyer Oliver Farnsworth, Thomas uses his knowledge of advanced technology to make profitable inventions. While developing a way to move water, Thomas meets Mary-Lou, a quiet desk clerk, and begins to fall for her. As he is about to leave Earth, Thomas is intercepted by the U.S. government, and his entire plan is threatened.

The Man Who Fell to Earth retains a cult following for its use of surreal imagery and being Bowie's first starring film role.
