    Story of O, with a French title of Histoire d'O, is a French-German erotic drama film in 1975 directed by Just Jaeckin, starring Corinne Cléry, who played O, and Udo Kier, who played René. The film is an adaptation of the novel with the same title, Story of O, published by Pauline Réage in 1954.

    O is a young woman and a fashion photographer. She is taken by her lover René to Château Roissy, where she is subject to many sexual and/or sadomasochistic acts as part of her training to serve the members of the club. O is taught to be available for oral, vaginal, and anal intercourse. She is regularly stripped, blindfolded, chained, and whipped. O meets Jacqueline, a model, whom she photographs and grows fond of. René introduces O to Sir Stephen, his much older step-brother, and the two men share O. O soon believes he is in love with her.

    O is then sent to an all-female country house in Samois, because of the direction of Sir Stephen, where she experienced further beatings and training in submission. Sir Stephen tells O that René is in love with Jacqueline, and O must seduce her and get her to undergo training at Roissy. Jacqueline moves into O's flat and is seduced by her. Sometime after that, O asks Sir Stephen if he would endure the same punishments and experiences that she has undergone to show her unconditional love for him. When he replied "I suppose so", she suddenly burned his hand with a hot cigarette holder, leaving there a circle, or an O.
