William Oliver Stone was born in New York City on the 15th of September in the year 1946. His parents are Jacqueline Goddet and Louis Stone. He became a soldier after dropping out of Yale University. Oliver Stone is an American filmmaker, producer, and writer who has become a force to reckon with in Hollywood. His notable works include Scarface, Platoon, JFK, Natural Born Killers, Born on the Fourth of July, Snowden, Wall Street, and the list goes on. He won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay of Midnight Express in 1978 as a screenwriter. Platoon (1986) won an Academy Award for Best Director and Best Picture; it is a war drama with which he attained fame as a writer and director, the story was based on the Vietnam War. Born on the Fourth of July was the film that won the filmmaker his second Best Director Oscar.
