Joe Sherman was a director, editor, producer, and writer who also worked on such film as Moments of Love, Dear Fanny, 'F', and Inspirations. His filmography includes Hot & Saucy Pizza Girls, written by John Thomas Chapman and starring John Holmes, Bob Chinn, and John Seeman, and Little Orphan Dusty in 1978. In 1979, he completed films starting with adult comedy 800 Fantasy Lane, starring Jamie Gillis, Bud Wise, and Chris Anderson, adult comedy sci-fi Superwoman, featuring Jesie St. James, Sharon Kane, and Starr Wood, about a sexy hooker, Taxi Girls, with John Holmes, Nancy Suiter and Mike Ranger, and Heavenly Desire, about two seductive ghosts creating a sorority house in order for virgins to gain entrance into Hell, directed by Jourdan Alexande, written by Bob Oakwood, and starring Serena and Johnnie Keyes.

In 1980, Sherman worked on Garage Girls, a sex romp with girls fixing cars, directed by Gary Graver and starring Georgina Spelvin, Susan Nero, and Richard Pacheco, The Skin on Skin, about loneliness and hot sexual fantasies, directed by Anthony Spinelli, written by Mitch Spinelli, and starring John Leslie, Eva Housman, and Richard Pacheco, and Plato's: The Movie, about reporters doing undercover on the infamous sex club Plato's, written by John Finegold, featuring Seka and others, and 1981 Aunt Peg's Fulfillment. 

His adult comedy The Blonde Next Door (1982), about Barry Horne who seduces frustrated married Cindy, written by Ed DeLong starring Lisa De Leeuw, John Leslie, and Ron Jeremy, Expose Me Now, and Urban Cowgirls in 1982 are among his final films.
