    Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Ron Shelton vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

    American film director and screenwriter Ronald Wayne Shelton was born on September 15, 1945, also a former baseball infielder. His directorial debut sports 1988 Bull Durham earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, starring Kevin Costner, and the film won Best Original Script, Best Script from the US National Society of Film Critics and it was nominated for an Academy Award.

    He worked on the scripts for Nicholas King Nolte and the film earned a nomination for Best Actor in 1991 for the film The Prince of Tides and the 1983 film Under Fire, directed by Roger Spottiswoode. Shelton worked again with Costner for Tin Cup (1996) with Rene Russo, Cheech Marin, and Don Johnson. His boxing comedy Play It to the Bone, starring Antonio Banderas and Woody Harrelson, and the 1992 White Men Can't Jump (1992) with Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, released by 20th Century Fox.

    Shelton also wrote and directed two biopics: Cobb (1994), starring Tommy Lee, based on a 1994 book by Al Stump. The original music was composed by Elliot Goldenthal. He also wrote or co-wrote The Best of Times, an American comedy film in 1986, directed by Roger Spottiswoode and starring Robin Williams, Kurt Russell, Pamela Reed, Holly Palance, and Donald Moffat and continued to direct two Los Angeles-based crime films: Dark Blue and Hollywood Homicide, a comedy with Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett.

    Shelton is married to actress Lolita Davidovich and had two children. He was inducted into the Rochester Red Wings Hall of Fame in 2017.
