    Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Barry Shear vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

    American film director and producer James Barry Shear (March 23, 1923 – June 13, 1979) began directing in 1950s for the DuMont Television Network. He directed episode on series Guide Right, Not for Publication, and Joseph Schildkraut Presents, with actor Joseph Schildkraut. His other episodes include The Man from U.N.C.L.E., produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Television, following the secret agents Robert Vaughn and David McCallum with music composed by Jerry Goldsmith and arrangement by Dave Grusin, The Name of the Game, starring Tony Franciosa, and more which aired on NBC with 76 episodes, setting the stage for The Bold Ones and the NBC Mystery Movie with the largest budget. His first feature was the 1968 counter culture film Wild in the Streets. 

    His other creations were The Todd Killings in 1971, The Deadly Trackers in 1973, Ironside 1967 to 1975 which stars Raymond Burr and Alias Smith, with music by Quincy Jones, an American Western series Alias Smith and Jones, originally aired on ABC starring Pete Duel as Hannibal Heyes and Ben Murphy as Jedediah Kid Curry, Police Story, Police Woman created by Robert L. Collins, starring Angie Dickinson, and The Feather Gang, a crime-drama television series starring Stefanie Powers and Harold Gould which aired from December 6, 1976, to July 30, 1977.

    Shear and Jan Berry of the singing duo were injured, along with other crew members, on the first day on the set of the Paramount motion picture Easy Come, Easy Go on 1965, ultimately canceld and reused the title the following year for an Elvis Presley film. He died in 1979 at the age of fifty-six in Los Angeles, USA.
