  • Dear Friends and Movie Lovers

The Scary Season is nearly upon us. For Horror fans it came early: a cruel summer that saw the deaths of two of the genre's master directors: George Romero and Tobe Hooper. Hooper's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remains one of the most unrelentingly horrifying films ever made - despite the low budget and relative lack of gore (he said he was aiming for a PG rating!) And Romero... well, he practically invented the modern Zombie genre with NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD in 1968, and later created what may be its masterpiece: 1978's epically gory and slyly satirical DAWN OF THE DEAD

And speaking of Romero... Cinespia has just announced its annual Hollywood Forever Halloween screenings: Romero's original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD on October 21st and the blockbuster blast GHOSTBUSTERS on October 7th. NOTLD is a perfectly timed (and located) tribute to the late, great director, and it's a brand new restoration, to boot.
As for GHOSTBUSTERS - what can you say? It's not too scary but you could hardly have a better time at the movies - especially surrounded by thousands of friends and fans of the film, watching on the big outdoor Hollywood Forever screen. One of the most fun films ever made - and boy, can we all use that now.
Get tickets here - but fast! They'll sell out before you know it.  Finally, we've got 80 new poster acquisitions for September, including:
