    Czech director and scriptwriter Petr Schulhoff (July 10, 1922 - May 4, 1986) also known as Peter Heinrich Wolf Schulhoff was incluenced by his composer and pianist father Ervín Schulhoff. He specialized himself in realistic crime films and farcial comedies and started working as an actor and became an assistant director in the Barrandov film studio which consisted mainly of detective stories like The Killer Hides His Face (1966), In the Footsteps of Blood (1970), which is a tribute to the acting and married couple Vlastimil Brodský and Jana Brejchová, I Take It, Boss ( 1978 ) with duo Luděk Sobota and Petr Nárožný, Grandpa ( 1979) with Miloš Kopecký and Diagnosis of Death (1979). He focused more comedy films like Do we fit together, darling? (1974), Darling, Are We a Good Match...? (1975), Darling, Are We a Good Match...? (1975) starring Jana Brejchová and Vlastimil Brodský, We'll Kick Up a Fuss Tomorrow Darling... (1976) starring Milos Kopecký and Stella Zázvorková and I'll Be Good, Old Man!(1979) starring Milos Kopecký, Alena Vránová and Ladislav Pesek.

    His last film, the detective story Too Big Chance (1984), was shot by his Czechoslovakian film writer colleague Otakar Fuka of Akce Bororo (1973). He married the daughter of the former co-owners of Židlochovice sugar factory Maria Šustová. Suddenly due to physical and mental problems and the hopelessness of his situation, Schulhoff committed suicide in 1986 by overdosing on drugs. The ashes from his urn were scattered in Prague-Malvazinky cemetery.
