    American television director and producer George Schlatter, born on December 31, 1932, is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and founder of the American Comedy Awards. He is known for Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, an American comedy television program with 140 episodes on the NBC network, hosted by comedians Dan Rowan and Dick Martin, and the musical Judy Garland Show.

    Schlatter produced and directed various television series, like the 1987 The American Comedy Awards which has become an annual event, and produced feature films with his ownership The Editing Company. He was the executive producer of reality television series Real People (1979), Goldie and Liza Together (1980), A Party for Richard Pryor (1991), The First Annual Comedy Hall of Fame (1993), the legendary Sinatra: 80 Years My Way (1995), Caesars Palace 30th Anniversary Celebration (1996), The American Film Institute Salute to Dustin Hoffman (1999) as the 27th recipient of the AFI’s honor, The American Film Institute Salute to Harrison Ford (2000), and American professional boxer and activist Muhammad Ali's All-Star 60th Birthday Celebration in 2002.

    He received numerous awards and honors, including 25 Emmy Award nominations and Golden Globe Awards, recognized as the "Man of the Year" for International Radio & Television, Directors and Producers Guild Award and many others. He is married to actress Jolene Brand, a regular for many Ernie Kovacs shows of the early 1960s, and had two daughters, the champion equestrian rider Andrea and Emmy award winning producer Maria.
