Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Don Schain vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.
Director, producer, and writer Don Rodney Schain (February 26, 1941 - December 26, 2015) was also a former movie theater manager, whose feature debut was The Love Object (1970). As a writer and director, and with his partnership with Ralph T. Desiderio, he produced the idea for the notoriously "Ginger" exploitation films, turning into immensely popular cult films: Ginger (1971), starring Cheri Caffaro, who married Schain but eventually divorced, as a sexy yet tough female James Bond-style crime-fighter, The Abductors (1972), and Girls Are for Loving (1973). Don Schain directed the equally sleazy A Place Called Today (1972), starring J. Herbert Kerr Jr., Lana Wood, Cheri Caffaro, Richard Smedley, Timothy Brown, and Peter Carew, released by Embassy Pictures, and She's Too Hot to Handle (1977).
Schain produced a large volume of successful movies for the Disney Channel and collaborated with director Blair Treu on the 2006 High School Musical television film, written by Peter Barsocchini and directed by Kenny Ortega, Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior, starring Brenda Song and Shin Koyamada, whose Hadley Hudson’s voice was also featured; the film is about American teenager Wendy, played by Song, who claims to be the reincarnation of a powerful female warrior. Schain also produced Read It and Weep (2006), based on the novel How My Private, Personal Journal Became A Bestseller by Julia DeVillers, starring Sisters Kay and Danielle Panabaker. Don was the president of the Motion Picture Association of Utah until his death at the age of 74 on the year 2015.
Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Don Schain posters includes 1 Sheet (27x41) of Ginger, the big grindhouse hit, starring Cheri Caffaro and gay porn star Cal Culver. The colletion also includes other Don Schain posters.
