Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Stuart Rosenberg vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

American film and television director Stuart Rosenberg (August 11, 1927 – March 15, 2007) began by directing the television series Decoy (19571959), starring Beverly Garland, and directed 15 episodes of Naked City (19581963). He was later hired to direct his first film, Murder, Inc. (1960), starring Peter Falk.

His flms include The April Fools (1969) starring actress Catherine Deneuve, the Newman movies WUSA (1970), Pocket Money (1972), The Laughing Policeman (1973), The Drowning Pool (1975), Charles Bronson’s Love and Bullets (1979), and the action movie Let's Get Harry (1986). Rosenberg’s famous Cool Hand Luke (1967) was an American prison drama film starring Paul Newman and featuring George Kennedy. The war drama film Voyage of the Damned (1976) has an all-star cast contribution, featuring Faye Dunaway, Oskar Werner, and Lee Grant. The Amityville Horror (1979), an American supernatural horror starring young couple, James Brolin and Margot Kidder, who purchased a haunted home.

Rosenberg also directed The Pope of Greenwich Village (1984), starring Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts, Daryl Hannah, and Geraldine Page, who got an Academy nomination. He made his last independent drama entitled My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys in 1991, later deciding to become a teacher at the American Film Institute in 1992. His student’s dedicated the films The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Alphabet Killer, and The Wrestler in his memory in 2008.

Rosenberg died of a heart attack in 2007 in Beverly Hills, California with his wife Margot Pohoryles, his son Benjamin Rosenberg, a first assistant director, and his four grandchildren.
