Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Roman Holiday vintage movie posters, where we offer a wide range of artwork for one of cinema's ultimate romantic comedy films.

Roman Holiday is an American romantic comedy film directed and produced by William Wyler in 1953. It stars Audrey Hepburn as a crown princess from an unnamed European nation out to see Rome on her own, Gregory Peck as a reporter and Eddie Albert as photographer friend. Crown Princess Ann (Audrey Hepburn), becomes frustrated with her tightly scheduled life, and secretly leaves her country's embassy. Hepburn won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance; the screenplay and costume design also gathered award.

Roman Holiday was written by John Dighton and Dalton Trumbo. The film premiered at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on August 27, 1953, with a gross of $165,000 in its first week. In the same week, the film also opened in two theatres in Portland, Oregon. Since the film was very popular, both Peck and Hepburn were approached about filming a sequel, but this project never took off.

The film was shot during the "Hollywood on the Tiber" era at the Cinecittà studios which is just around Rome.

In 1999, Roman Holiday was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the Library of Congress.

Film/Art Gallery's Roman Holiday movie poster collection movie posters include Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck on a Vespa in William Wyler's 1953 classic and a rare Polish Roman Holiday poster by Jerzy Flisak artwork.

Film/Art Gallery movie posters are original prints and film poster collectibles. These are original movie posters. We do not carry any movie poster reproductions or reprints of any kind.
