    Jean Rollin was a French actor, film director, and noveslist well known for his work in the fantastique genre. He directed his first four vampire classic with his directorial debut Le viol du vampire in 1968, followed by La vampire nue and Le frisson des vampires, both produced in 1970, and Requiem pour un vampire in 1971.

    His later remarkable works include La rose de fe in 1973 starring Françoise Pascal, Hugues Quester, and Natalie Perrey, Levres de sang in 1975 starring Jean-Loup Philippe, Annie Belle, and Nathalie Perrey, Les raisins de la mort in 1978 starring Marie-Georges Pascal, Félix Marten, and Serge Marquand, Fascination in 1979 starring Franca Maï, Brigitte Lahaie, and Jean-Marie Lemaire, and La morte vivante in 1982 starring Marina Pierro, Françoise Blanchard, and Mike Marshall written by Jacques Ralf and Rollin.

    He also produced Les trottoirs de Bangkok, written by Jean-Claude Benhamou and starring Yoko, Françoise Blanchard, and Brigitte Borghese. He also directed Killing Car in 1993, about a surreal revenge thriller film starring Tiki Tsang.

    He also directed and wrote several films, such as Les démoniaques (The Demoniacs) in 1974, La nuit des traquées (The Night of the Hunted) in 1980, Les paumées du petit matin (The Escapees) in 1981, Perdues dans New York (Lost in New York) in 1989, Les deux orphelines vampires (The Two Orphan Vampires) in 1997, La fiancée de Dracula (The Fiancée of Dracula) in 2002, La nuit des horloges (The Night of Clocks) in 2007, and Le masque de la Méduse (The Mask of Medusa) in 2009.
