  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Alain Robbe-Grillet vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic contributions.

Alain Robbe-Grillet was a French filmmaker and writer. He was appointed as a member of the Academie francaise in 2004. He wrote several novels, such as The Erasers in 1953, The Voyeur, his most acclaimed novel in 1955, La Jalousie in 1957, For a New Novel in 1963, and Le miroir qui Revient in 1984 -- translated to English by Jo Levy as Ghost in the Mirror in 1988.

His directorial debut was Last Year Marienbad, and it won the Golden Lion at 1961 Venice Film Festival and was nominated for Writing Original Screenplay at the 1963 Academy Awards. The film also won the critic's award in Best Film category at the Syndicat Francais de la Critique de cinema in France in 1962. It was also nominated for Best Dramatic Presentation at Hugo Awards. It was also selected as an entry at the 34th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film in 1962, but it was not accepted as a nominee.

He carried on to start his career as writer-director and he started with L'Immortelle in 1962 which won the Louis Delluc Prize. It was followed by his commercially successful film Trans-Europ-Express in 1966, featuring Jean-Louis Trintignant, who worked with him on his next films, such as The Man Who Lies in 1968, Eden and After in 1970, Progressive Slidings towards Pleasure in 1974, and Playing with Fire in 1975.

It was almost a decade when he launched his next feature film, La belle captive (The Beautiful Captive) in 1983. Afterwards, he produced Un bruit qui rend fou (A Maddening Noise, aka "The Blue Villa") in 1995.

Film/Art Gallery's collection of original Alain Robbe-Grillet movie posters include a Italian 4 Foglio (55x78) poster for Eden and After, the erotic drama, with great artwork by Sandro Symeoni. Also included in the Alain Robbe-Grillet poster collection is a 1 Sheet (27x41) poster for the movie Trans Europ Express.
