  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Jean-Louis Richard vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

French film director, actor, and scriptwriter Jean-Louis Richard (May 17, 1927 – June 3, 2012) was born as Jean Marius Richard in Paris, known for Fahrenheit 451 (1966), based on the 1951 Ray Bradbury novel of a fireman Guy Montag who lives in an isolated society where books have been outlawed and it is his duty to burn any books on sight; eventually, he falls in love with book-hoarding Clarisse and begins to read books which later made Montag realized and question the government's facing every consequence that he could face if captured. The film was directed and written by François Truffaut and Jean-Louis Richard wrote the screenplay, starring Oskar Werner, Julie Christie, and Cyril Cusack.

The Bride Wore Black (1968) is a film that emotionally destroyed the widow Julie Kohler, who leaves her mother and experiences a horrible paranoia while she embarks on a devilish mission of sinful revenge; directed by Truffaut and written by Cornell Woolrich, starring Jeanne Moreau, Jean-Claude Brialy, and Michel Bouquet. Richard’s Day for Night (1973) is the story of an English married wife falling in love and running away with the father of her French husband, directed by Truffaut and stars Jacqueline Bisset and Jean-Pierre Léaud.

Jean-Louis was married to Corinne Bricaire, followed by Jeanne Moreau, whom he divorced and had a son, Jérôme Richard, until his death on June 3, 2012 in Paris.
