  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Giulio Questi vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

Italian film director and screenwriter Giulio Questi (18th of March, 1924 – 3rd of December, 2014) was born in Bergamo. He is best known for the 1968 films La morte ha fatto l'uovo (also known as A Curious Way to Love; Death Laid an Egg; Death Trap; and Plucked) and the Spaghetti Western film Se sei vivo spara (Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot!; 1967).

Death Laid an Egg stars Ewa Aulin, Gina Lollobrigida, and Jean-Louis Trintignant. The film was declared by the Monthly Film Bulletin as "a genuine curiosity," with its "bizarre eroticism". The film has been released with many titles, A Curious Way to Love, Death Laid an Egg, Death Trap, and Plucked, and has been distributed internationally which eventually was re-released in France as Le Sadique de la Chambre 24.

Questi’s 1967 Django Kill! (If You Live Shoot!) was described by the film historian Howard Hughes as "the weirdest Italian film made Western" with its surrealistic violence. Phil Hardy defines it as "the most brutally violent spaghetti western”, while Christopher Frayling says that "the violence was of an extraordinarily savage kind". Antonio Bruschini wrote that "this film is the first western to offer horrendous scenes", while Marco Giusti defines the film as the most violent and bizarre ever filmed in Italy.

The film was then cut from its 117 minute running time to 95 minutes and was then released as Oro Maldito in Spain. It was reissued as Oro Hondo in an Italian alternative named Gringo Uccidi! in Italy.

On December 3, 2014, Giulio Questi died in Rome at 90 years old.

Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Giulio Questi movie posters include a 1 Sheet (27x41) of "La Morte Ha Datto L'uovo", the cult Italian murder mystery, starring Gina Lollobrigida, Jean-Louis Trintignant, and Ewa Aulin. Included in the collection are other Giulio Questi posters.
