Eldred Gregory Peck, born on April 5th, 1916, is an American actor best known for his larger-than-life roles in film. He received critical acclaim for his versatility and passionate performances, which earned him many awards over the course of his career.

Peck was nominated five times for an Academy Award, winning the Best Actor Oscar for his role as Atticus Finch in the drama To Kill a Mockingbird. Our collection features a Polish poster for the film with artwork from Bronislaw Zelek.

Another film that earned the actor an Oscar nomination was Twelve O’clock High. Our Gregory Peck vintage original movie poster collection houses a striking Italian poster for the film featuring the art of Alfredo Capitani.

Peck’s performance in Roman Holiday contributed to what is considered one of the best movies of the era. It turned out to be a gigantic commercial success at the box office. According to an estimate, it made $10 million at the box office in the 1950s, and earned Peck many accolades including a BAFTA nomination. The actor’s incredible talent cemented his status as a Hollywood star. In 1966, he starred in the comedy thriller, Arabesque, another box office hit. The British poster, featuring artwork of Sophia Loren and Gregory Peck, is the original design of Robert McGinnis. McGinnis’ design was also the inspiration for the French Arabesque poster found in our collection.
