Mon Oncle (My Uncle) is a French comedy film by French filmmaker Jacques Tati. My Uncle was released in 1958. It is the director's first film released in color, and received many awards including the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and a Special Prize at the 1958 Cannes festival. The film also won the New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Mon Oncle (My Uncle) stars Tati himself, Jean-Pierre Zola, Adrienne Servantie, and Alain Bécourtis.

The film centers on Monsieur Hulot, a socially awkward but lovable character and his struggle with the technology-driven world, but he can't quite fit into hid surroundings. Like most Tati films, Mon Oncle is essentially a visible comedy; color and lighting are employed to assist tell the story. The dialogue in Mon Oncle is barely audible, and largely subordinated to the role of an effect. The drifting noises of heated arguments and idle banter complement other sounds and the physical movements of the characters, intensifying the comedic effect. The film's complex soundtrack also uses music to characterize environments, including an active theme that represents Hulot's world of comical inefficiency and freedom.

At its release in 1958 in France, Mon Oncle (My Uncle) was denounced by some critics for a reactionary view of an emerging French consumer society, which had lately embraced a replacement wave of commercial modernization and a more rigid social organization. However, this criticism gave the film huge popularity in France and abroad – even within the U.S., where rampant consumption and a recession had caused questioning around the economic and social values of the age. The film was another big success for Tati with a complete of 4,576,928 admissions in France
