  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original David Lynch vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of memorable and stylish films.

David Keith Lynch (born January 20th, 1946) is an American filmmaker, painter, musician, singer, sound designer, photographer, and actor. He is famous directing and writing films such as Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986), and Mulholland Drive (2001), which are mostly considered by critics as among the finest films of their times. Lynch is also known for his television series Twin Peaks (19901991, 2017). These works led to him being named "the first popular Surrealist" by film critic Pauline Kael. An acceptor of an Academy Honorary Award in 2019, he has accepted three Academy Award nominations for Best Director and has won the Cesar Award for Best Foreign Film twice, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and a Golden Lion award for lifetime achievement at the Venice Film Festival. In 2007, a panel of critics gathered by The Guardian declared that "after all the discussion, no one could fault the conclusion that David Lynch is the most valuable film-maker of the current generation", while AllMovie labeled him "the Renaissance man of modern American filmmaking".

David Lynch's first feature-length film, the surrealist horror Eraserhead (1977) became a victory on the midnight movie circuit, and he came after that by directing The Elephant Man (1980), Dune (1984), and Blue Velvet (1986). Lynch next made his own television series with Mark Frost, the popular murder mystery Twin Peaks (1990–1991), which aired for two seasons initially. He also made the film prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992), the road film Wild at Heart (1990), and the family film The Straight Story (1999). Regarding Lynch's signature surrealist filmmaking, three of his succeeding films ran on dream logic non-linear narrative structures: Mulholland Drive (2001), Lost Highway (1997), and Inland Empire (2006). Lynch and Frost joined again in 2017 for the third season of Twin Peaks, which aired on Showtime. Lynch co-wrote and directed every episode, including reprising his onscreen role as Gordon Cole.

Other examples of David Lynch’s artistry include his ventures as a musician, which produced the studio albums Crazy Clown Time (2011), BlueBOB (2001), and The Big Dream (2013) which contained music and sound design for a variety of his films. The famed Hollywood director also engaged in photography and painting, as well as writing the books Images (1994), Catching the Big Fish (2006), and Room to Dream (2018). Outside of film, David Lynch also directed commercials and various music videos, including the Dior promotional film Lady Blue Shanghai (2006). A devoted practitioner of Transcendental Meditation (TM), he founded the David Lynch Foundation in 2005, which searched to fund the teaching of TM in schools and has since broadened its scope to other at-risk populations, as well as the homeless, veterans and refugees.
