Popular and influential Czech film director and writer Oldrich Lipsky (4 July 1924 – 19 October 1986) was brother of actor Lubomir Lipsky. Born in Pelhrimov, Czechoslovakia, he was known for The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians (1981); the film centers on a castle near the town of Werewolfville in the Carpathians, about a slightly disturbed Professor Orfanik with his experiments and new inventions, starring Michal Docolomansky and Evelyna Steimarova.

His 1964 work for Lemonade Joe was based on the 1963 Czech stage production which was a musical parody of early Westerns, starring Karel Fiala, Rudolf Deyl, and Milos Kopecky. His futuristic comedy I Killed Einstein, Gentlemen (1970) is a science fiction film which features an atomic bomb explosion that causes women to grow beards and lose their ability to have children. It was written by Josef Nesvadba (story) and stars Jiri Sovak, Jana Brejchova, and his brother Lubomir Lipsky. Almost all of his films were comedies with his frequent screenwriter Milos Macourek.

He was considered to direct of Dissolved and Effused (1985), with its first version of the screenplay written in the early 1970s. The film plots a police inspector and an inexperienced trainee in search for mysterious ointments for hair growth. The film was eventually directed by Ladislav Smoljak. Lipsky died on October 19, 1986 in Prague, Czechoslovakia.
