    American-born British film, television, and theatre director Sir Michael Edward Lindsay-Hogg was born 5th of May, 1940 to stage actress Geraldine Fitzgerald and husband Sir Edward Lindsay-Hogg, 4th Baronet, though he was later rumored and confirmed to be the natural son of Orson Welles. Lindsay-Hogg is popular for his 2015 film Tinsel's Town (2015) and Divorce Ranch (1981).

    He directed Blackmail, The Informer, A Man of Our Times, Half Hour Story, and The Company of Five in 1965, Ronnie Barker Playhouse in 1968, and Journey to the Unknown which he was nominated for Broadway's 1979 Tony Award as Best Director. He was also hired by the Beatles and released Let It Be (1970), worked on the series Play for Today and Play of the Week, Nasty Habits (1977), Brideshead Revisited (1981),The Sound of Murder, and Broadway productions of Agnes of God (1982), The Boys of Winter, and Larry Kramer's The Normal Heart both in 1985.

    He continued directing on Whitney Houston's single "You Give Good Love" in 1985, Simon and Garfunkel's The Concert in Central Park, Neil Young in Berlin and Paul Simon, Doctor Fischer of Geneva (1984), Master Harold...and the Boys (1985), As Is (1986), and The Little Match Girl (1987), the Roger Daltrey concert film A Celebration: The Music of Pete Townshend in 1994, and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot (2001). He succeeded Rotherfield Hall in 1999 after the death of his father, Sir Edward, 4th Baronet, and inherited his title Sir Michael Lindsay-Hogg, 5th Baronet. In 2012, he received the "Music Video Pioneer" award.
