Anton Leader was a film director and production manager. He is know for the films Virginian in 1962, starring Doug McClure, James Drury, and Lee J. Cobb, The Twilight Zone in 1959, starring Rod Serling, Robert McCord, and Jay Overholts, and Star Trek: The Original Series in 1966, with William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and DeForest Kelley.
He won the 1965 Western Heritage Award for the direction of the drama The Virginian, for the episode “The Horse Fighter”. The series has gained several awards, including Trofeu Imprensa (Brazil) for Best Series in 1966; it won the Western Heritage Awards for Bronze Wrangler in 1968, for the episode “Bitter Autumn”, and for the episode “The Horse Fighter” in 1966. The movie was also nominated for Writers of Guild of America, USA for WGA Award in 1970 for the episode “The Virginian: Black Jade(1969)”; It was also nominated for Writers Guild of America for the WGA Award for the episode, “The Virginian: The Horse Fighter(1965)”

He was the producer for the CBS Radio’s Suspense from 1948 to 1950. He was also the director of the syndicated radio program “Murder at Midnight” from 1946 to 1947.
Anton Leader was born as Anton Morris Leader in Boston, Massachusetts on 23 December 1913 and died in Los Angeles on July 1, 1988. He was married to Rosalind Palca in 1944 until his death.
