    Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original John David Landis vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic contributions.

    John David Landis (August 3, 1950) is an American actor, film director, screenwriter, and producer, best known for comedy films. He made his directorial debut with Schlock, released in 1973 after it caught the attention of Johnny Carson. He co-wrote and directed The Blues Brothers in 1980 and wrote and directed another cult-status film, An American Werewolf in London in 1981.

    Landis directed Into the Night, starring Jeff Goldblum, inspired by Hitchcock productions. He directed Three Amigos! (1986), featuring Chevy Chase and Steve Martin. His other films feature Sylvester Stallone in Oscar (1991), the horror film Innocent Blood (1992), and Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop III (1994).

    He directed The Stupids in 1996 and then returned to Universal to direct Blues Brothers 2000 in 1998 with John Goodman, including Burke and Hare, released in 2010, Landis's first theatrical release since over a decade. He directed the music video for Michael Jackson for his song "Thriller," which won the Video Vanguard Award for The Greatest Video in the History of the World, and collaborated again with Michael Jackson for the song Black or White.

    He has received recognition from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films, the Italian National Syndicated of Film Journalists, the Phoenix Film Festival, and the Sitges – Catalonian International Film Festival. He is married to Oscar nominated costume designer Deborah Nadoolman, former President of the Costume Designers Guild, with whom he has two children.
