    Philippe Labro (August 27, 1936) is a French film director, author, and journalist who worked for RTL, Paris Match, air television channel TF1, and Antenne 2. He is a laureate of the Prix Interallié, founded in 1930, and was awarded for L'Étudiant étranger in 1986.

    Labro is known for Tout Peut Arriver (1969), starring Jean-Claude Bouillon, Prudence Harrington, and Catherine Allégret, The Hunter Will Get You (1976), with Jean-Paul Belmondo, Bruno Cremer, and Jean Négroni, and The Inheritor (1973). Sans Mobile Apparent ("Without Apparent Motive") (1971) with Jean-Louis Trintignant, L'Héritier (1973) with Jean-Paul Belmondo , Le hasard et la violence ("Chance and Violence")(1974), starring Yves Montand and Katharine Ross, L'Alpagueur ("The Hunter Will Get You") (1976), with Jean-Paul Belmondo, La Crime (1983) with Claude Brasseur, Jean-Louis Trintignant, and Jean-Claude Brialy, and Rive droite, Rive Gauche (1984) with Gérard Depardieu, Nathalie Baye, and Carole Bouquet .

    His famous books include One Summer Out West, about a scholarship student who takes a summer job with the U.S. Forest Service in Colorado, The Foreign Student, a French bestseller and a semiautobiographical novel, Dark Tunnel, White Light: My Journey to Death, Beyond, about near-death experience, and Le Petit Garcon, about the rite of an all-boys Virginia college of the same era.

    He was a close friend of Jean-Pierre Melville in the 2008, becoming a member of jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 2001 and Commander of the Légion d'honneur in 2010.
