  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Jed Johnson vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic creations.

Film director Jed Johnson (December 30, 1948 – July 17, 1996) was also an American interior designer who came to New York in 1968 from California. He was hired by Andy Warhol as sweeper at Warhol's Factory, and became his lover for twelve years. It was then the beginning of his decorating career, where he learned to discriminate and differentiate between good objects and great ones, and where he learned and mastered to love things as distinctly unique. He was moved into film editing, working on Andy Warhol's Dracula and L'Amour, and later directing Andy Warhol's Bad. He designed Interview magazine offices and, with architect and partenr Alan Wanzenberg, worked with Sandra and Peter Brant, Jerry Hall, Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger, and Richard Gere. He was a member of the Andy Warhol Art Authentication Board.

On July 17, 1996, at the age of 47, Johnson, on TWA Flight 800, along with 229 other passengers and crew members, was killed when the plane exploded off the coast of Long Island, New York. He was named to the Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame in 1996. Rizzoli published in 2005 “Jed Johnson: Opulent Restraint,” a monograph and remembrance organized by his twin brother Jay.

In 2006, Jay honored his brother’s legacy, and created Jed Johnson Home which provides luxury textiles for designers and architects throughout the world and has been available to the industry since 2007. Jay has continued to oversee Jed Johnson Home’s growth and development in 2016.
