Original Halicki, H.B. Movie Posters
H.B. Halicki movie posters are available at Film/Art Gallery, covering the self-financed productions of the independent filmmaker who wrote, produced, directed, and starred in Gone in 60 Seconds (1974), one of the most remarkable low-budget action films in American cinema history. Halicki shot the film around Los Angeles with a largely non-professional cast, achieving an extended car chase sequence of forty minutes that destroyed nearly a hundred vehicles and produced footage of visceral excitement no studio film of the era equalled. Shop original theatrical materials from this cult production.
Halicki financed the film entirely from his own automobile salvage business and distributed it independently after studios declined his approach. Gone in 60 Seconds became a substantial commercial success on the drive-in and regional theatre circuit, recouping its modest budget many times over. He followed it with The Junkman (1982) and was killed in 1989 during the production of a sequel when a stunt went wrong, cementing his legendary status within independent American cinema.
Original posters for Gone in 60 Seconds carry the raw graphic energy of 1970s independent action cinema at its most unrestrained. First-release materials from this independently distributed production are genuinely scarce, as print runs were limited and surviving examples have not fared well against the passage of time.
