The main focus of the film is the concert - Altamont Speedway, outside San Francisco, 6 December 1969. Rolling Stones hires the Hells Angels as security. As the day progresses the mood turns ugly, the large portion of the crowd were high on drugs and fights break out. When Mick Jagger arrives at the grounds via helicopter, he is punched in the face by an unruly fan while making his way to his trailer. On the Rolling Stones' set, Meredith Hunter lunge for the stage who is high on methamphetamine and armed with a gun was stabbed to death by the Hells Angels.
