Even Dwarfs Started Small (1970), a German humour drama film written, produced, and directed by Werner Herzog. A group of dwarfs kept in an institution on a remote island rebel against the guards and director in a display of chaos. The dwarfs abandon a running truck to drive in circles and break windows and dishes joyfully, plan food fights and cock fights, set fire to pots of flowers, kill a large pig, bother some blind dwarfs, and perform and fake crucifixion of a monkey.

The Deer Hunter (1978) is an American epic war drama film, directed and co-written by Michael Cimino. The film is about a trio of steelworkers whose lives are changed forever after fighting in the Vietnam War. The three soldier characters are played by Robert De Niro, Christopher Walken, and John Savage. The story takes place in Clairton, a working-class town on the Monongahela River south of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and in Vietnam. In Vietnam, the friends, along with other soldiers, are captured by the Viet Cong and are forced to participate in a torturous game of Russian roulette while the jailers place bets.

Rude Boy (1980), filmed around 1978 and early 1979, is British film directed by Jack Hazan and David Mingay. The film is part works of fiction, part rockumentary, and tells the story of Ray Gange, a young Clash fan who leaves his dead end job in a shady Soho sex shop to become a roadie for the band. The film also contains broad footage of the Clash at a Rock Against Racism concert at Victoria Park.
