  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Brian DePalma movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic contributions.

Brian De Palma, or Brian Russell De Palma, was born on September 11th, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. He has made a successful career as an American motion-picture director and screenwriter, best known for his work in the suspense, crime and psychological thriller genres. He was the son of a surgeon who became interested in movies during college. The youngest of three brothers, the filmmaker was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire.

De Palma has been married and divorced three times, including to actress Nancy Allen (1979–1983), producer Gale Anne Hurd (1991–1993), and Darnell Gregorio (1995–1997). He has one daughter from his marriage to Hurd, Lolita de Palma, and one daughter from his marriage to Gregorio, Piper De Palma.

The Hollywood direction and screenwriter attended various Protestant and Quaker schools, eventually graduating from Friends' Central School. He had a poor relationship with his father, and would secretly follow him to record his adulterous behavior; this would eventually inspire the teenage character played by Keith Gordon in De Palma's 1980 film Dressed to Kill. He also notably built computers when he was in high school and had won a regional science-fair prize for a project titled "An Analog Computer to Solve Differential Equations".

Brian DePalma's eye-catching films include box office hits such as Carrie (1976), Dressed to Kill (1980), Scarface (1983), The Untouchables (1987), and Mission: Impossible (1996), as well as Sisters (1972), Phantom of the Paradise (1974), Blow Out (1981), Body Double (1984), Casualties of War (1989), Carlito's Way (1993), and Femme Fatale (2002).

The Iraq War drama Redacted (2007) was also directed by DePalma, which recounts the rape and murder of a young Iraqi girl by American soldiers, and the revenge thrillers Passion (2012), starring Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace, and Domino (2019).

Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Brian DePalma movie posters include a poster that is one of approximately twenty inserts for top 1970s/1980s titles that have been widely reproduced and sold as originals. These are often referred to as "minty white" bootlegs, due to the fact that they are printed on glossier paper than the originals (one of a handful of "tells" that can be used to distinguish fakes from originals). The inserts offered here are 100% guaranteed original.

Also included in the Brian DePalma poster collection is a single-sided advance Mission Impossible poster for the first film in the long-running franchise, directed by Brian De Palma and starring Tom Cruise.

Film/Art Gallery movie posters are original prints and film poster collectibles. These are original movie posters. We do not carry any movie poster reproductions or reprints of any kind.
