Original Beetlejuice Movie Posters
Beetlejuice movie posters — Beetlejuice (1988) — Tim Burton's anarchic supernatural comedy starring Michael Keaton in his defining comic role, alongside Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, and a cameo-rich supporting cast — produced one of the most inventively designed comedy campaigns of the late 1980s. The film's visual universe — part Charles Addams, part 1950s instructional film, part pure carnival — required advertising art that could communicate its genre-crossing spirit in a single image.
Find original Beetlejuice one-sheets and you're looking at campaign materials that have become genuinely collected objects in their own right. Keaton's white-striped suit, the BioExorcist iconography, and the film's playful relationship with the horror genre's conventions are all present in campaign materials that match the film's tone exactly. The American one-sheet is the most widely recognized but British quads and international variants offer different visual approaches.
Winona Ryder's debut in a major film role here — playing the goth teenager Lydia Deetz who becomes the emotional center of the story — makes this a significant collecting area for Ryder-focused collectors as well. The scale of the film's original release was modest; its subsequent cult status has made clean original theatrical materials progressively harder to find. The 2024 sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice renewed collector interest in original theatrical materials from the 1988 release, with original Tim Burton-era campaign art now attracting substantially higher attention than it commanded even five years ago.
