  • Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick vintage movie posters from their critically acclaimed catalog of documentary cinematic creations.

Peter Kenneth Wintonick was born on June 10th, 1953, in Trenton, Ontario, Canada. He was a Canadian independent documentary director. Wintonick was known to be one of Canada’s best known international documentarians.

Mark Achbar born in Ottawa, Canada in 1955, is a filmmaker best known for The Corporation in 2003, Two Brides and a Scalpel: Diary of a Lesbian Marriage in 2000. Achbar and Wintonick expanded the analysis of the political economy and mass media.

Manufacturing Consent is the most successful feature documentary film in 1992 directed and produced by Achbar and Wintonick. The film explores the political life and ideas of linguist, intellectual, and political activist Noam Chomsky. Canadian filmmakers Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick expand the analysis of political economy and mass media presented in Manufacturing Consent, a 1988 book Chomsky wrote with Edward S. Herman. Manufacturing Consent played in over 300 cities all over the world. The highlight of the film was the examination of the history of The New York Times’ coverage of the Indonesian occupation of East Timor, which Chomsky says exemplifies the media's unwillingness to criticize an ally of the elite.

Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick movie posters includes a French 1 panel (47x63). This Mark Achbar and Peter Wintonick poster is a 1993 poster artwork featuring an image of Noam Chomsky.
