Written and directed by Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is a 2019 comedy-drama film produced by Columbia Pictures, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio as Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth, Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate, Zoë Bell, and the final film of Luke Perry. The cast also features Kurt Russell, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, Al Pacino, and Scoot McNairy. The film is set in 1969 Los Angeles, following the Tate-LaBianca Murders. It was distributed by Sony Pictures and earned a grossing $374 million worldwide.

Unfortunately, Burt Reynolds died in September 2018 before filming any of his scenes and replaced by Bruce Dern as George Spahn. The production team includes editor Fred Raskin, cinematographer Robert Richardson, sound editor Wylie Stateman, and makeup artist Heba Thorisdottir.

The film was among the top ten films of the year by the American Film Institute and the National Board of Review with 10 nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Production Design, and won Best Supporting Actor (Pitt). It also won the 77th Golden Globe Awards for Best Screenplay, Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), and Best Supporting Actor (Pitt). A 1950s Western television series based on a TV program titled Bounty Law is being developed by Tarantino with actor Rick Dalton.

The fictional film within the film "Ouatih" is a 1970 Spaghetti Western, directed by (the real-life) Sergio Corbucci and starring "Rick Dalton" (Leonardo DiCaprio) as the title character.
