Hello from Hollywood. I hope the speculation over the death of Gene Hackman doesn't interfere with the appreciation of his greatness (especially in THE CONVERSATION, FRENCH CONNECTION, NIGHT MOVES). I can't think of an actor less phony, and it was always fun watching him have fun (YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, SUPERMAN, BIRDCAGE). R.I.P.
