Roy Rowland was an American film producer. He started as a prop man, grip, and associate cameraman. He contributed several films in the 1950's and 1960's, including Our Vines Have Tender Grapes in 1945, Meet Me in Las Vegas in 1956, Rogue Cop in 1954, The 5000 Fingers of Doctor T in 1953, and The Girl Hunters in 1963.

Rowland was an assistant director on most of the Tarzan film with the lead character Johnny Weissmuller with Maureen O'Sullivan as Jane and Cheeta the Chimpanzee in the 1930s.

Rowland made his fame directing short films in his movie How to Sleep, where it won an Academy Award in 1937. His directorial feature debut film was A Stranger in Town in 1943 screenplay by Isobel Lennart and William Kozlenko. He also produced 3 films with the child actress Margaret O'Brienm, an award winning actress, such as Lost Angel in 1943, Our Vines Have Tender Grapes in 1945 and Tenth Avenue Angel in 1948.

He also directed musical films, including Hit the Deck in 1955 starring Jane Powell, Tony Martin, and Debbie Reynolds; Meet Me in Last Vegas in 1956 starring Dan Dailey and Cyd Charisse; The Seven Hills of Rome in 1957 starring Mario Lanza, Renato Rascel, and Marisa Allasio; and The 5,000 Fingers of Dr. T. in 1953, starring Peter Lind Hayes, Mary Healy, Hans Conried, and Tommy Rettig.

He also directed Many Rivers to Cross starring Robert Taylor and Eleanor Parker and Gun Glory in 1957, starring Stewart Granger and Rhonda Fleming.
