Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original The Muppet Movie vintage movie posters, where we offer a wide range of artwork for one of cinema's most memorable children's musical films.
The Muppet Movie is the first of a series of live-musical feature movies featuring the Muppets. The film is a movie-in-a-movie, as we see Kermit the Frog and the rest of the Muppets gathering for the first screening of "The Muppet Movie." Kermit notes to his nephew Robin as the lights dim that the movie could be a to some degree fictionalized account of the true story of how the Muppets started.
After Kermit the Frog chooses to seek after a movie career, he begins his cross-country trip from Florida to California. Along the way, he meets and becomes acquainted with Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and rock artists Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. When Kermit is offered a work by Doc Container (Charles Durning) to promote the fried frog legs at his eatery chain, Kermit turns Hopper down. In any case, Hopper refuses to yield and seeks after Kermit and his companions to the last standoff.
The movie was a success. In 2009, the film was selected by the U.S. National Film Preservation Board for preservation in the National Film Registry of the Library of Congress.
Film/Art Gallery's The Muppet Movie poster collection includes a unique "Muppets Wars": Star Wars-style advance poster and poster artwork by Andrzej Pagowski of the first Polish release poster for the children's movie.
Film/Art Gallery movie posters are original prints and film poster collectibles. These are original movie posters. We do not carry any movie poster reproductions or reprints of any kind.
