Original Vintage Movie Posters @ Film/Art Gallery

Welcome to the official Film/Art Gallery collection of original Marek Kanievska vintage movie posters from his critically acclaimed catalog of timeless cinematic contributions.

Marek Kanievska, also known as Marek Kaniewski, is a British film director who began his career in the early 1970s with Crawford Productions, producing a drama series called Matlock Police (19711976), focused on the police station and crime in the Victorian town of Matlock in Australia.

Kanievska helmed the ITV detective drama Hazell (19781979), a parody of early film-noir, Shoestring (1979–1980), another detective drama, Thomas & Sarah (1979), and Playhouse (19671983), a comedy series featuring contributions from playwrights Dennis Potter, Rhys Adrian and Alan Sharp. He also worked on a short film The First Day (1980), starring Miranda Richardson, followed by a British romantic historical drama, Another Country (1984), written by Julian Mitchell. The film is based on the life of double agent spy Guy Burgess, starring Rupert Everett and Colin Firth; the film entered the 1984 Cannes Film Festival and won the award for Best Artistic Contribution. His next feature film, Less Than Zero (1987), is based on Brett Easton Ellis' novel, and stars Andrew McCarthy as Clay.

He worked on the crime heist film Where the Money Is (2000), written by E. Max Frye and starring Linda Fiorentino, Dermot Mulroney, and Paul Newman. It was followed by A Different Loyalty (2004), inspired by Kim Philby's marriage to Eleanor Brewer and his defection to the Soviet Union; the film entered the 26th Moscow International Film Festival. Kanievska is currently retired and now a full-time photographer/traveller and indulging in extreme outdoor activities all over the world.

Film/Art Gallery’s collection of original Marek Kanievska movie posters includes posters of Another Country in Italian 2 foglio (39x55), a gay-themed drama starring Rupert Everett and Colin Firth. The collection also includes other Marek Kanievska posters.
