McCabe and Mrs. Miller was originally called "The Presbyterian Church Wager"; director Robert Altman is quoted as saying a ranking official in the Presbyterian Church complained to Warner Brothers about having their church mentioned in a film about brothels and gambling, and that this complaint caused the name change. This is a seldom seen advance poster with design by Anthony Goldschmidt, a top poster designer for many years.
