As the words 'We the People' appear to burst towards the viewer from the flat paper, vibrant colors are released like celebratory, calligraphic fireworks. In juxtaposing the familiar, two dimensional, black ink original document with this explosion of color and energy, Saul conveys and celebrates an evolution: what began as an idea on paper has endured and continued to help shape and define the American experience. And it is through the lived experience that we have grown, thrived and evolved and will continue to do so.
